I not an advocate of any Linux Distro. But when someone push Ubuntu everytime there is an opportunity, it sounds to me like marketing on a list service designed to thresh out Linux issues.
It does not help most readers who just wants to have objective and fair assessments of the issues at hand.
You are right, though, when Gentoo is mentioned in this list the same people sprung up and suddenly just come to life as if they've come from nowhere.

This is fair and useful characterization. I will have a hard look at this when selecting my Linux Distro.
Incidentally, I am not single minded when it comes to Linux Distributions. I weigh-up the pluses and the minuses depending on the Specifications and the Requirements for the sake of my business and customers.
