I am running Ubuntu and have just downloaded an application from an outside source but do not know how to install it. It sits on the desktop. The file finishes with .bin. Clicking yields a message which tells me to 'rename the file to the correct extension for "shell script"'. I do not know how to or what happens after that. Help would be appreciated.
