Dear Slug
I have some questions for which I would appreciate some advice.
At present I am running Xandros V3.1 which is quite good except that I
am having trouble with the following:
Is it possible to partially fill a CDROM, then remove the CDROM from
the drive, then later on re-insert it and carry on recording from
where the previous recording had left off. In my case, I wish to
add photos to CDROM 's such as to use the full capacity available?
Yes it is possible, it is called a multi-session. Not being a Xandros
user, I don't know if the burning software that is embedded in the
xandros file manager (modified konqueror with modified k3b) can do it,
but this is no problem because you can download K3b through Xandros
Networks (apt-get).
The limitation is that you cant start a multi session in k3b and
continue in another burning program, you must continue with k3b until it
is finalised.
What is the difference between 'track at once' and 'disc at once'
recording?
Disk at once is one continual burn, where as track at once pauses
between tracks. Horses for courses, you use them for different reasons.
Where can I find info about 'Quanta' web authoring tool ? At what
stage of development is it?
Last time I used quanta, it was a great editor but still too buggy for
my liking, that was more than a year and a half ago though, so while I
don't really have an answer, I would guess with fair certainty that it
would be quite stable by now. Lots of people rave about it. Also have a
look at bluefish!
Quanta's web page is http://quanta.kdewebdev.org/index.php
It states
"Quanta Plus is a highly stable and feature rich web development
environment"
The latest version is 3.4.0
