Hi everyone, Well forgive me if this is a basic newbie question. I am about to embark on building up a new file/mail server for our
small office. I currently have redhat 8 running on an 8yr old PII 350 with 380M
ram – and its just not coping well anymore. The new server will recycle my old (recently superseded) workstation Dual processor with 2 x AMD MP 1800’s (Tyan s2466n motherboard) 2 Gb Ram It has a 60Gb ide drive and is getting 2 new 160Gb Ide’s with a PCI
Raid controller card I’m moving to CentOS 4 for this build I am confident with installing the server OS My question I have not been able to
answer yet is confirming that the CentOS build will support & use the dual
AMD MP’s Any other tips / recommendations would be appreciated The mail server app is called “InsightServer” by Bynari
(from Dallas texas) it’s pretty stable once its running properly (that
took a bit to start with), however the beauty is it gives you close to 100% MS
exchange server functionality at simply an annual maintenance & upgrades
fee – outlook connects pretty seamlessly with it. File serving I have been using Samba We have about 20G of critical file data & our mailboxes run to
around 15- 20G Thanks for any comments Project:
