Hi all, Software Freedom Day rocked!
If you haven't been there you've missed out on an awesome set of talks and on the opportunity to introduce new people to our community. The minister was most impressive - I've never talked to a minister who felt more human and geeky. And hearing direct statements by the lawyers was excellent, too - as were the many other great talks. I'd like to thank all the speakers for their presentations! We've recorded all the talks on DVD with a backup on DV tapes (which we will probably require). We'll try to make them available fairly soon, probably through media.slug.org.au. Many thanks to the av team who have spent many hours preparing the day to be able to do live streaming on the day and record all the talks. The following people were part of the av team: Andrew Sinclair, Sridhar Dhanapalan, John Ferlito, Andreas Fischer, Peter Baker, Bruce Badger, Chris Deigan, Shane Stephens, and Conrad Parker. I'd also like to thank all the other helpers of the day, who are probably better named by somebody else. Above all, I'd like to thank Pia for all the time, enery, and ideas she has put into organising SFD. It was awesome! And thanks for the T-shirt! :-) Cheers, Silvia. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
