My noname mp3 player is on the blink, I'm looking at buying a new one.
What are ppls's recomendations? (iPod, iriver, etc).

Hi Sonia.
Apacer AU231 1 GIG. $52 including shipping to your door. Expandable with upto2GIG SD. i-tech.com.au <-great delivery + online tracking. Plugs into FC5 box and I'm sure ubuntu (not tested, but ubuntu picks up most h/w). Is immediately recognised by windows as 2 separate drives, so functions as SD reader too.

I listen to 1-hour podcasts. This player doesn't remember where it was when switched off is the only drawback (overcome with 2 speed cueing[bit annoying when you have to cue 30minutes ahead )-:]).

ipods r 4 everybodies (-'. Good luck to 'm.

Kind regards.
Luke.
I want something that will plug into Ubuntu and Just Work (TM). I play
music, but also want an easily navigable and sortable filesystem for
podcasts and language study. After using (and hating) iTunes, I'm a bit
cautious of an iPod (I disliked the Drag n Drool interface, and the
lockin).
