Linux Australia and the Sydney Linux Users Group will once again have a stand at the annual Education Expo[0] in Sydney, on Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 June. We have a well-positioned stand this year, at co-ordinates F9[1].
Catering to students, parents, teachers and anyone else interested in K-12 education, the Education Expo is a great forum for promoting FOSS to the educational and home sectors. Our presence has been very successful in previous years, and we hope to replicate that. We are looking for volunteers! Please get in touch with me if you have any ideas, or if you would like to help out at the stand or with its preparation beforehand. Some of our plans for the show include: * talking to visitors and answering questions * handing out copies of Edubuntu and the OpenEducationDisc * distributing leaflets with information about FOSS and education * demonstrating Linux and FOSS on computers, and allowing people to have a go * showcasing the OLPC XO laptops * exhibiting the Asus Eee PC ultra-mobile laptops [0] http://www.edexpo.info/ [1] http://www.edexpo.info/edexpo/floorplan.htm -- Sridhar Dhanapalan President Sydney Linux Users Group http://www.slug.org.au
