snmpv2 doesnt offer much in the way of security features over snmp 1.

snmpv2 is pretty much better in all ways over snmp1, snmpv3 is snmpv2 with better security.

given a read only, private LAN, just go snmpv2.

I want to setup snmp / rrd to chart Linksys WAG54G,
looking at WAG54G and Cacti, they both support snmp 1, 2 and 3

both Cacti and WAG54G seems to work OK on snmp 1

this is on a private LAN, security is not an issue, is there any reasons
not to use snmp 1, but, 3 or 2 ?
