Did you download an ISO and make a CD?
Try again or do a checksum on the download.
I had a similar problem in the past and it was a faulty CD.

Has anyone here encountered a problem with the Intel Quad Core Xeon X7350
chips not booting from x86_64 media?

I'm trying to install RHEL4.5 on a brand new PowerEdge R900 and the x86_64
media wont boot, however the i386 media will.. I'm sure these are 64bit and
the propaganda indicates that at least Suse 64Bit Enterprise 10 should work
because Intel published benchmarks using it

Thanks
