There seems to be problems with Network Manager. Using the Kubuntu version of Intrepid Ibex I cant connect to my Ntwork LAN.

Hi

If the device isn't showing in Network Manager it might suggest that
either the OS or the software isn't seeing the device.

What comes out of dmesg when you plug the device in?
Post the output of /sbin/lsusb.
Can you see the entry in /sbin/lsmod?
As far as I'm aware (just a user) NM just writes into it's own and /
etc based configuration files, I know you can get issues in Fedora/KDE
with 1) using other network config tools at the same time as NM (for
me e.g. system-config-network if I remember) and 2) if you modify
files from /etc.
