It could be that Evince doesn't like your PostScript file for some reason. You 
could try opening it with another PS viewer, like GV or GSview. Or you could 
try converting your file to .pdf and see if Evince will open that. Use the 
ps2pdf command line program to convert your file.

Can anyone tell me why the command

evince filename.ps

simply gets the cursor to go to the next line and stay still?

I've tried re-installing it, to no avail.

Any help ...
