Did you download this one: http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/usb-modeswitch-1.1.2.tar.bz2 ? For some reason the stuff you've pasted looks like something else. Try that, I've successfully downloaded and installed it via the directions on this page: http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/ . Also if you're using a debian based distribution, there is a .deb you can download on that page as well.
