Hi Patrick; http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1205127.html
To stop the MF626 from starting as a CDROM you send it the initialisation string AT+ZCDRUN=8 You can do this with Hyperterminal in Windows XP but not in Vista which has no Hyperterminal. There is an alternative way that does not need Hyperterminal: in the Windows computer with the MF626 inserted go to Start/Control Panel/ Phone&Modem Options/Modems/ZTE proprietary modem/Properties/Advanced. Place in Extra initialisation string AT+ZCDRUN=8. Then connect using the Telstra Turbo Connection Manager. Remove the MF626 Delete the string in control panel. You can reverse this process by repeating the procedure using AT+ZCDRUN=9. Basically how I did it, linked to the post that solved my problem a while back. Yes, I know it is using windows.. however its the only method I knew at the time, im sure you can send it in terminal fairly simply Thanks; Andrew Bootsma ----- Original Message ----- Hi All, Johannes is having trouble with connecting his Vodaphone USB wireless thingo. Andrew, can you explain how you: "...disable(d) the Virtual cdrom drive now, and it works almost flawlessly. > > Andrew Thanks, Patrick -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
