Hi guys,

Currently i have a Flickr account, and my online photos are stored there. i'm
considering switching to Picassa Web Albums, but have some reservations as
well...

What i like about Flickr is mainly its geotagging capabilities. Also, even
though its web upload interface is painful to use, the availability of rich
client tools (i use jFlickr) helps to overcome this.

However, the thing i dislike about Flickr, is that all the information about
the photos (title, description, geo-position) are stored online, and not in the
photo EXIF.

So then i start to evaluate Picassa and its Web Albums.

- At least it stores the title and description locally but are they in the
photo EXIF, or in a local database?

- However, i can't find a way to geo-tag photos even though i have both Picassa
Linux and Google Earth Linux. Anyone able to do this, or any other way to
geo-tag photos?

In short, i'm looking for a photo management application (be it Picassa Linux
or F-Spot or something else) which
- when i edit the title and description will store it with the photo itself in
its EXIF.
- allows me to geo-tag photos and store the geo-location in the photo's EXIF
- allows me to upload the photos to an online web album (Flickr or Picassa) and
populate the online database with the information previously stored in the EXIF
(title, description, geo-location).

Does such an application exist? Or do i have to start something in sourceforge?
;-p

Thanks and Regards,
Edwin
