For example, my laptop hangs because one of bugs (filed date 2 years
ago) and I can't use proprietary driver. There is more stable
opensource driver with 3D support but not all functions are
implemented yet and Google Earth doesn't work.

Agree, nVidea is a good choice. The only thing, you'll have to use
proprietary drivers.
If you FSF kind of person, you might want to search for a hardware
with opensource drivers such as Intel i810/i915. I'm not sure if there
is one on a PC market today.
