I wonder how (or if) they've solved the problem with battery life? I've installed Ubuntu on one of my laptops (HP), eventually got each piece of it to work (Display, Wireless...) but at the end still haven't got the power problem solved. The same laptop would last for about 2.5hrs -3hrs under XP but under ubuntu I only managed to get 1.5hrs. When I searched on the net for solutions i'm presented with many types of solutions. Tried at first to install the laptop-mode tools, activated it but still didn't get the desired effect. I've read some other solutions but seems to me that to solve this problem seems to be a combination of lowering the power consumption of Graphic Cards, adjusting fan speeds, cpu, wireless power etc...etc... Way to many things.
still.... Ubuntu is fun:) I really love using it. just don't have the time to really do all of the tweaking. Just wished it worked out of the box for laptops. Still gonna use it on my laptop, but only with the power attached.
