Engineer, Live! Center 

Job Scope 
Reporting to the manager of Live! Center, he/she will be working under
the general supervision of the Service Operations Manager. The engineer
will be actively involved in 



      * Maintain and execute Standard Operating Procedures for
        Infrastructural monitoring and maintenance to meet SLA for
        infrastructure availability
        
      * Provide 24x7 1st level monitoring and recovery support for all
        system and network anomalies
        
      * Lead the process of incident management by from incident
        detection, investigation, escalation, support and recovery
        
      * Liaise with the end user on incidents (eg. Fault reporting,
        Follow-ups, Escalation)
        
      * Liaise with partners on scheduled maintenance, outage
        notification and other support related issues
        
      * Liaise with vendors for hardware breakfix/upgrades/delivery
        
      * Assist with planning, design and implementation of
        infrastructure projects
        
      * Preparing KPI/KOI periodic report for Live! Center
        
      * Constantly maintain and update all support reference materials
        and procedures
        
      * Able to work on rotating shifts
        
      * Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
        


Job Requirements

1) Experience 


      * About 3 years of system/network administration experience.
        Experience in a technical Network Operations Center is an
        advantage. 
        


 

2) Technical Skills


      * Most of or all of the following: Solaris, Linux, MySQL, Apache,
        Tomcat, 
        
      * A value add advantage for candidates who has
        experience/knowledge of Nagios, MRTG, Solaris Hardware, Routers,
        Switches.
        


3) Working Knowledge


      * Well-versed with of most UNIX commands/utilities. 
        
      * Fundamental understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; for
        example, understands job control, soft and hard links,
        distinctions between the kernel and the shell. 
        
      * Experience in configuring network routing, VLANs, VPN and
        networking protocols.
        



4) Qualifications 


      * Minimum diploma in computer science or related disciplines.
        Excellent work experience can be substituted. 
        



5) Others


      * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. 
        
      * Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of
        conveying ideas and applying knowledge to challenging tasks.
        
      * Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl,
        bash, sh, etc.)
        
      * Works well independently or as a team player. 
        
      * Willing to work in rotating shift 24/7.
