sorry, I meant the meaning of *load avg* (not uptime) varies depending
on the os.

that's what i meant by it varies depending on os. linux includes
u-sleep, others may not include it. from what i was reading, it even
looks as if different versions of the same os take into account
different params when calculating load avg.
