Hi Harish,
Good! Do let us know if it works. :)
Seems like a much easier way of getting up to speed than going through
your laptop.

Can I try to understand you clearer?
You are using 'wireless broadband' on your laptop.
Now, you're trying to connect your Nokia phone to your laptop. You're
doing so because you want to be able to surf at broadband speeds which
you're already achieving on your laptop.
Am I getting you right?
I'm asking because it seems a little counter-intuitive.
Yes, it does, doesn't? Funnily, the moment I sent the email, I got a call
back from 1626. I am not talking about wifi access. I am talking about
the old fashion dial up access. What I don't want is 33.6K speeds but
this "broadband on the handphone".
The lady - who seemed quite clued in - explained the following:
a) On the phone, Settings->Connectivity->PacketData.
b) at PacketData, set it to "When needed"
c) below packet data, is Packet Data Settings.
d) In Packet Data Settings, you will see Active Access Point. The
phone shows 10 Access Points with the 1st one named IDEAS Internet.
Activiate IDEA Internet.
e) Then at "Packet data access point", enter "internet" all lower case and
one word.
f) go back out to the top level of the phone menu, and go to Settings,
Phone and Network Mode. Mine shows "Dual Mode", UMTS and GSM.
It defaulted to Dual Mode. I have to set it to UMTS.
So, it appears that if I dial up a standard modem line, the Nokia will
be operating on 3G speeds. Let's see. I have only done all of this and
now need to test it out.
Thanks.
Harish
