I did get the Seagate Free Agent and zapped out the ntfs and put ext3 on it. But the problem is that the drive spins down. I had it plugged into a F6, F8, RHEL4 and RHEL5 machines and the drive does spin down. I suspect that some hdparm value (or the equivalent sd versions) should do the trick.
I really need to get the drive working (I have the 500G version I bought for $205 at Sim Lim) for it is my repository when I use miro (www.getmiro.com) as well as my repo when I stream from that drive to my neuros OSD device (http://www.neurostechnology.com/) PS: Just saw this http://alienghic.livejournal.com/382903.html.
