Hi All, I'm currently working in the States, and one of my co-workers has asked me about employment opportunities in Singapore. I'm not quite up-to-date on recruitment/employment opportunities in Singapore and thought I'd post it here for comments. Thanks for helping. -waimun
[1] In general, how do people find out about and get jobs in Singapore? [2] For job opportunities in middle/senior management, do people find jobs through friends/family, headhunters, newspapers (Straits Times), or job portals (Monster, JobsDB, etc.)? What's the percentage breakdown of all these channels, in order to prioritize efforts? [3] Do professionals actively network through industry associations, conferences, trade shows, etc. or no? [4] For jobs in technology strategy/management (i.e., CIO, General Manager of a regional development center, VP of online platform), what would be the best way to find out about them, other than online postings? Are there targeted magazines, industry resources, etc. that you would suggest for that kind of information? Or are there none? [5] Do you have any recommendations for finding a job in Singapore? _______________________________________________ Slugnet mailing list [email protected] http://www.lugs.org.sg/mailman/listinfo/slugnet
