Just a quick automated reminder that The Singapore Linux Meetup Group has a meeting tomorrow and you said you'd be there! What: The Singapore Linux February Meetup When: Wednesday, February 20 at 7:00PM Who: At least 11 Linux Enthusiasts Where: SIS Seminar Room 2.2, SMU, School of Information Systems 80 Stamford Road Singapore 178902 Singapore meetup1 Hi All, Sorry I had to miss the Jan Meetup. Well, we would like to wish all our SLMG members a very Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year. For those who not be aware - this year is Year of the Rat. Remember Chinese New Year is actually 15 days so we will still be celebrating CNY by the Feb meetup. For Feb, Jeff Jansen will be speaking to us on "virtualization". I know Michael Clark did one sometime back but much has been updated, so it's probably time to revisit "virtualization" especially as it is gaining usage. Here's a blurb for the Wednesday meeting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Virtualization - More with Less Virtualization shows great promise for more efficient computing. It means we can run multiple versions of multiple operating systems on the same physical machine. It can make administration easier and offers the ability to better control the use of our resources. In this presentation we'll look at three major types of virtualization being used today and discuss their strengths and weaknesses. We'll demo some of the virtualization technologies freely available today and talk about when you would use one virtualization strategy over another. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >>> by Jeff So hope to see you all soon.
