Subject: [Slugnet] 24 programming contest this weekend

*,

The 24 hour programming contest, code::XtremeApps[1] will be run this
weekend at the SMU. The technologies used include IBM's Project Zero
(www.projectzero.org) and Adobe's AIR.

The hardware is a set of blades all running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 as
the host OS and 100 RHEL5.2 Virtual Machines on these blades. It is very
likely that this is the largest deployment of a VM environment for a
programming
contest.

You can see what is being done via http://codeextreme.temasek.net.

This contest is brought to you by the Singapore IT Standards Committee
and IBM, Adobe, NCS, SCS, Red Hat, Nanyang Girls School, Singapore
Management University, MS&L, SATA, IDA, SITF, SCS, ITMA, LUGS, SCCCI,
Temasek Polytechnic.
