If you want to abort the telnet connection, use Ctrl+] (hold on Ctrl
with ] keys) will return you back to telnet> prompt.  When you are
back in telnet prompt you can issue "quit" command to exit.  Please
note that you can't abort the telnet connection using Ctrl+D or Ctrl+\
as they won't work from personal experience.
