I did a bit more research. Based on the info in the Wireshark Wiki [http://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/WLAN] the best choice for a USB based WiFi device are those using the Zyxel ZyDAS 1211 chipset as the zd1211 driver is part of the kernel. I will look for devices based on this list [http://www.linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/zd1211rw/devices]. Hopefully the Aztech or Zyxel ones are available locally. Any other recommendations from the list?
