Blame the society for being driven by $$$? Love and fresh air can only
take you so far. We still want the beer and the pizza don't we? :P

IMHO, its heartening to see more options for one to be educated and
exposed to FOSS - UniSim, Singapore Poly, Temasek Poly, Republic Poly,
ITEs (to name a few) are all getting into the act. They need all the
support they are can get. More options for education means more choices
for the masses and these educational institutes are prepared to put FOSS
into the hands of the students and to me, that is commendable. They are
prepared to arm their students with all the relevant industry practices
and give their students a head-start with FOSS.

Or would you rather see a fresh grad that can only tell you ...
"Go to the bottom left hand corner and click the START button"
"BSOD, no problem, press the power button and everything will be fine"

Encourage. Tell others about the choices they have in education.
Remember, these fresh graduates may one day be a decision-maker. They
might not be able to influence the decisions now, but in time, some of
them will have that responsibility and I would want them to be touch by
FOSS as early as possible.
