Hi Harish,

No. There is no mailing list yet except for a close list of people who are
involved in the AOSSC Cooperation. There is also no wiki yet.

The group comprises people with different skill sets. Some are good at Linux
and software applications. Some are university academics. Others are open
source software trainers. Yet there are others who are embedded Linux
specialists. The level of open source software usage in the various Asian
countries is also different. When we were in Chennai, India, we were impressed
by the work done by a Professor in using Ruby on Rails to provide applications
for children suffering from cerebral palsy. It touched the hearts of many of
us to see how the Indian people can contribute so much to helping people
improve their quality of life using open source software. Then in China,
especially in Guangzhou, the government have set up a specialised Linux centre
to promote Linux and open source training to the schools.

It is really good to know what they are doing with open source software in the
other Asian countries.

Regards

Kin Chew
