I use my bluetooth or cabled n82 often as a 3.5g modem. You can then share it out via your laptops wifi/wired network card if you like. What you can do (re infrastructure etc) is dependant on the chipset in your laptop at that point. Joiku spot to share the 3g from the phones wifi itself is buggy and crap as well as blocking ports/protocols unless you front up cash for it...
