No real respect is given to open source software. It is written in as
an "oh, btw" - and not even worthy of consideration (because subtext:
"not all of it is free beer! you'll have to do your own work to figure
out what is what").

And then after that he lumps in "free open source software" with
"freeware" - and then proceeds to tear "freeware" down (may not offer
good value, little or no documentation, virtually no tech support)...

And then at the end of the day, he says "the best things in life are
free"? The article is confused. It's just all in all not a very
well-written, or cohesive article.
