I would heartily recommend the Fon 2.0N. http://www.fon.com/ The only downside is that you have to buy it online and it is not available locally. I have two of them - one for the home and one when I travel. The nice thing about the Fon is that: a) has 2 SSIDs - allows you to have a secure private use SSID and a public one for anyone to use. The public one offers you an opportunity to make money as well. b) it runs Linux. <drifting off topic> In countries which have 3G data-only plans (like Malaysia and Australia), I use the 3G USB dongle with the Fon and turn the whole thing into a mobile wifi-access point.
