You're right!  My meter says that the power adaptor draws this much power
when the battery is fully charged:

- macbook pro 13" (circa 2010).  10W idling (with screen, wireless turned on
but at minimum brightness and with excellent reception).  22W with one core
at 100% (doing a while (1) {} loop).  26W with both cores at 100%.

- kurobox (aforementioned 266mhz ppc, with 5yr old desktop hdd). 18W idling.
 19W doing the while loop.

I wouldn't quibble over a few W, so if my netbook has similar power
consumption, it'd make sense to use it instead.
