Ok. Today's new release opened my eyes a little re this issue. Also, I apologise for not mentioning "Centos 7, completely up to date".
On the main page here http://www.schedmd.com/#repos there is a link to a tar.bz file, but because it isn't a fully qualified link (javascript pop up), I went straight to the repo because I am using wget in python-fabric to deploy across nodes. (Now having seen the file, I have worked out the bz2's fully qualified link, but regardless...) So to route around this, I started installing via configure/make/make install this AM. Was interested to see the differences, most particularly that when installing with rpmbuild I get dependency errors that I didn't get when compiling from source: error: Failed build dependencies: openssl-devel >= 0.9.6 is needed by slurm-15.08.5-1.el7.centos.x86_64 perl(ExtUtils::MakeMaker) is needed by slurm-15.08.5-1.el7.centos.x86_64 pam-devel is needed by slurm-15.08.5-1.el7.centos.x86_64 Should I install these even if I'm using MUNGE? Hi, Following the instructions found here: http://slurm.schedmd.com/quickstart_admin.html $ sudo rpmbuild -ta slurm-15-08-4-1.tar.gz error: line 88: Tag takes single token only: Name: see META file I note that the github repo: https://github.com/SchedMD/slurm has no "issues" page? The link at the bottom of that github page for help is 404: http://slurm.schedmd.com/help.html (also note: docs refer to bzp, all releases on front page atm are tar.gz) Most importantly - how can I set the relevant details in slurm.spec if I'm running rpmbuild?
