Hi,

is it possible to display the effective QOS of a job?

I need to investigate some unexpected behaviour of the scheduler (at least
unexpected to me at the moment). I want to limit maximum number of CPUs per
user in each partition. It is my understanding from the documentation that
partition QOS (set to "medium" for the "medium" partition which has
MaxTRESPU=cpu=512) takes precedence of the job QOS (displayed as "normal" which
has no limit). However, I'm getting ~100 array jobs of a user scheduled (with
32CPUs each) at the same time in the "medium" partition.

What would be a good starting point for investigating the issue?

Is it possible to look "inside" the scheduler state/decision making?

I'm using Slurm 20.02.0.

Best wishes,
Manuel
