Got it ! BOOM !!! I missed snmp.exe and snmptrap services running in the background. Stopped them and SM runs fine. Thanks a bunch!

Odd. Rebooting would definitely take care of it.
(the following is moot if you've rebooted, but....)
Make sure you're clicking on the Task Manager's "Processes" tab. Also, if
it's there, make sure the checkbox for "View all processes" is checked. Or
maybe it's called "View processes for all users" or something.
(I don't see it on my Win2K Pro and Win2K servers here, but I have that
option on the servers at the NOC. Go figger!)
This one stumped me a couple of days ago when I was using TermSErv to get
to the Win box.
By the way... if your Processes tab doesn't show anything running, you're
in deep doo-doo!
