The router is running dhcp to the lan side with 192.168.254’s.  The wan side has a public static IP and is plugged into the total.  The total still has its default 192.168.0 address.

Where are you connecting the airBridge TOTAL on the router? Is it the WAN side or the LAN side? Also let us know the IP settings on the airBridge unit if it has a correct gateway address as well.

Don't use a self test.  Sometimes those just test for connectivity, not DNS resolution.  Is the router logging?  That would be a good place to check for errors.  I agree with Tom to check DHCP and DNS settings.

It works fine.  The router has a self test built in.  It sees and passes internet traffic fine.  That is why I thought it was the airbridge.

It is in the settings in the router. Try PING TOMHAYNES.NET from a command prompt. If that does not work try PING 65.108.224.254 if that works then make sure that you have set the default gatewayand DNS servers correctly.

We have an install using an outdoor total that is giving us issues.  We are using a laptop with a static IP to test with.  When we plug it directly into the airbridge, we can surf just fine.  When we put a router in the middle, the router can see it, but the laptop can’t surf.  The router is set with a static IP on the WAN side, and dhcp for the LAN side.  The laptop is set to DHCP.  We changed the router to a new one to make sure that it wasn’t bad with the same results.  Is there something strange about how the totals see and pass traffic that are behind routers?
