Yes thats what I was talking about. Is there no way you can make a version of the firmware that allows your firmware to turn your address 4 field off in repeater mode so that it can work with other products? If you can make non-sb be able to connect to repeater why can you not make the repeater connect to non-sb for uplink? Now I suppose that to use your product I have to get back to back radios everywhere I want a repeater?

You mean associating aPP in repeater mode to Cisco AP? We recommend only Primary AP from smartBridges because of the address 4 field required. When you associated airBridge to the repeater, do you able to ping to the repeater?

The firmware fix the issue of instability and disassociation with the client device. Also non-sb client devices can able to associate to the repeater.

I think I may be confused here on this repeater update. I recieved the fix from smartbridges. Loaded it. It will connect to my cisco 340ap just fine. But when I get an airbridged connected to the repeater I cannot do anything. Like the signal stops at the app Repeater. What exactly was the update supposed to fix? I was hopeing it would just be what it says... A repeater. Any insite here?

Thanks again,

Jerry

You CAN use repeater mode with non-SB clients. You just need to make sure they support 'Address 4' field.

There was a comment about a firmware release fixing this issue, here is a copy...

Will there be a beta firmware to allow repeater mode off of someone elses ap? I need to know I cannot replace all repeaters and ap's at once. If I will not ever be able to use repeater mode with non SB then I need to rethink the stragity.

Thank you,

Jerry

We did not release any beta firmware for testing with respect to the repeater issue.

Where can I get the new beta for this? I signed up for the beta program along time ago and stopped recieving info after first beta test. I would like to test this out with the new units I just recieved.

Thank you,

Jerry
