The information on the connection should tell you (at the AP). Its either going to be 1, 2 5.5 or 11 Mbps (per the standard) These are not throughput but pure wire speeds (or in this case, wireless).. Overhead, layer 2 stuff etc.. eats into that, so actual speed, only real way of telling is a RAM to RAM copy test between machines (and even that is not that accurate due to machine issues...)
