Check out http://sfax.no-ip.com/Networking/articles/6.htm and you might get some useful information. A 200MHz PII can authenticate 200/sec. through radius authentication….kind of OT though.

We have checked Microsoft’s site, but they have already switched most of their documentation to Windows 2003 server.  The reason Jared asked is because we noticed that you have to buy the Windows 2003 Enterprise server to get unlimited connection for IAS.  The standard server limits you to 64 connections . . . or something like that.  We are considering Linux, but we know Microsoft software and have IAS working on a Windows 2000 Server.

Please check with Microsoft knowledge base for the IAS connection limitations and users are based on the Active directory users.

a few questions to go along with radius and ias....
Does anyone know if there is any connection limitations on IAS or Windows2k?
Has anyone who has implemented Radius into IAS ran into any problems?
About how many users are you authenicating?
