Title: RE: [smartBridges] Fragmenataion and RTS Levels

Seeni how come there aren't like automatic adjustments for best quality between sb units sb cpe to sb ap for like power adjustments or rts settings, I know my 5.8 links do it and they work great like that they use just what they need :) Automatic testing of rts would be kewl don't believe its able to be done though..

Also seeni I was wondering for the nexus system the current CPE's are still going to be the active cpe's correct or are there new ones coming because changing cpe's for my company for better performance is NOT an option unfortunately only improvements on the current ones and maybe by the time nexus comes out we cud use new cpe's for new clients but the old clients would have to work and be bling blinging on the nexus's

Hi Sam,
A low RTS Threshold setting can be useful in areas where many client
devices are associating with the access point, or in areas where the
clients are far apart and can detect only the access point and not each
other. Enter a setting ranging from 0 to 2346 bytes.
The value is required to adjust to suit your environment especially when
there is hidden node issue. Please see this white paper.

A higher value dbi antenna will definitely increase the RF signal level
more. With the current setup, what is the LQ and RSSI value at the CPE?.
If you are getting almost 90% of LQ and RSSI level, then the reception
is better.

Subject: [smartBridges] Fragmenataion and RTS Levels

Nish

Is there any documentation anywhere about altering the fragmenataiton
and
RTS settings on an APPO or would I ever want to mess with those?

Also, I have two APPOs that I'm using to backhaul about 60 clients
through. The APPOs are about 2.2 miles apart, clear line of sight. I am
currently using 18dB flat panel antennas. Some customers seem to think
they are running slower than they should be. Would going to 24 dB
parabolic grids be overkill on this short of a link? Also, how many
clients can I reasonably backhaul through that link?

Thanks
Sam
