This is true.  I'm also experiencing alot of problems with configuration on XP.  Also, it takes XP a long time to associate(?).  Seems to find the APPO fine, but doesn't connect as readily as under 98 or 2000.
I've been having the firmware problem too, so I'm not sure how much is from what issue.

Otherwise, I am extremely impressed with the range of the airNICs!!  My customers are mostly in NYC areas, so many large brick & steel buildings.
