I have an install... (right now I have a racoon crawling through my air ducts, BRB!) ... ok, install...  at 14 miles. 12vDC PS --120' CAT5e -- splice -- 50' pigtail CAT5e --- APPo -- 3' LMR400 -- 13dB Maxrad WISP panel (yes, the one for clients installs) , all on top of a 130' water tower. On the client side 24dB PacWireless Grid (thanks for the screws, Scott) -- 3' LMR400 -- APPo -- 50' pigtail CAT5e -- splice --  50' CAT5e -- 12vDC PS. RSSI 62% LQ 80-90%. Clear (for 14 miles :-) line of sight with clear freznel zone over corn fields and woods. Up/Download 133KBps or 1,063Kbps (58,800,469 bytes in 432 seconds)

Now, I have to admit that the install looks a lot better then it sounds, but if any link should not work or would fail for mysterious reasons it would be this one. No lightning arrestors (the two towers have taken direct hits a total of 6 times together), cheap antenna on the POP (Maxrad). 12vdc power supplys with 170' & 100' CAT5e runs. Omni antennas within 2' of the directional antennas on each side of the link using 2.4GHz as well. These were my first two towers and the both need a little work to make them easier to manage but WOW! Neither of these radios should work let alone pass the kind of traffic that they do.

I'm not sure how this is supposed to help you. I guess I am just bragging :-) But I can't take all the credit. smartBridges helped a little :-)

How much cable is between the ABO and the 7db omni?
What type of cable is it?
Do you have clear line-of-sight? (can you see your antenna with binoculars?)

I personally have never seen a stable link at 40% RSSI. It just isn't enough
signal to pass traffic. Not reliably anyway. I've got a customer right now at
67% RSSI and LQ bouncing between 65% and 85% and he can't keep a
stable link.

I have been having a hard time getting signal.  Most of my customers are around 40% RSSI with Airbridge Indoors and are working well so far.  But, all these locations are within a mile of my Tower.  I have a VERY hard time getting anything over a mile!

Anyone wish to give me some pointers? I have been using a AirBridge Outdoor plus a 7db omni mag mount from Pac Wireless and a 19db grid from Pac to test for signal.  But it really stinks when I don't even know if my signal from the tower is getting to me..  The only thing I have is SimpleMonitor, which takes some time to assoicate sometimes.
