Only a few things that can cause that. Either wrong polarity (are you sure you tried rotating the antenna 90 degrees?), Bad coax cables, or a quirk of multipath. Although the multipath issue is a very rare one, that's where a reflected signal is received that adds to your main signal. But usually multipath either reduces signals or causes errors in 802.11 gear. So I'm inclined to double check the first two items.
