I have an airPoint Outdoor operating in Access Point mode successfully with
MAC address authenticaion table.

I am attempting to use another airPoint in Repeater Mode because I believe
clients can also connect to this and get a better signal strength from some
locations.

I sort of had it working but I only get one chance at setting it up before I
have to reset to factory defaults. Once I switch the operational mode from
Access Point to Repeater I can no longer log into the device.

It is proving very difficult to make all the nessasary settings before I get
locked out of the device.

I am assuming the following:

1. That the latest software on the smartBridges web site is correct.

2. You have to set the ESSID to the same as the one you are repeating from.

3. That the name does not matter

4. The channel must be the same

5. Set the static IP to be in the same subnet but different IP

6. The MAC address table must be loaded the same on each airPoint.

7. Each airPoint must know about the other one in the MAC table.

8. That the clients must be manually switched to the new Access Point

9. That once you set the operational mode to Repeater, then thats all you
can ever do with it. It must simply copy the main Access Point.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Regards,
Wayland.
