Don't use a splitter unless your going to use the same antenna on both ends with EQUAL length of cable... Your asking for trouble!!  Use another APPO and bridge them back-to-back.. You won't loose your throuput and it'll work ALOT better.

Subject: RE: [smartBridges] Repeater, Client Bridge or 2 APP's

I just did this today.  I installed an APPO in repeater mode about 10miles from my 200ft tower with a 24dbi antenna.  The APPO and antenna are only at bout 35ft with near LOS.  The link quality and RSSI are a little low so I am thinking of putting in an amp on the main APPO.  We are going to put up a 2way splitter with a 9dbi omni to get 360 coverage.

As for the radius of an omni, I got 10 miles with a 12 Dbi Omni.  Directional antennas are better anyway but I am just getting started and this setup works for me.

Subject: [smartBridges] Repeater, Client Bridge or 2 APP's

Hi,
We have a small community with around 20 customers, which is located around 10 miles away from our main tower. We want to provide service to them and not sure how we can provide the service to them. We have installed APPO with 13.5db omni directional on a 120 feet tower. We can't get the LOS to the community so have to install a repeater, or Client Bridge some where between the tower and the community. We are not sure whether APPO in CB mode with omni can solve this problem. (5miles radius might be too much for omni). Best solution might be putting a APPO with 2 directional antennas( Is it possible to do this ? if  'yes' , how ?). Also we think about installing 2 APPO's and bridge them. Not sure this can be done without having any external router.   I appreciate your ideas and suggestion about this matter

Thanks
Sajeeva
