Kevin,

With my setup, I am putting routers at EVERY client with built-in PPPoE.  This will allow a single login for each client, with DHCP behind it.

With what you are saying below, does that mean that my setup will work?

Thanks,

Sully

Subject: [smartBridges] AirBridge Outdoor firmware problem.

I mentioned a few months ago that with the AirBridge

firmware 0.09.10 (transparent bridge) I was able to get

two PPPoE clients on the network behind it at the same

time.

I've now verified in a live environment that the latest

firmware 0.01.07 does NOT allow multiple users of ANY

kind to log in to a MikroTik box. While a customer was

logged in and functioning with PPPoE, my laptop could not

get a PPTP connection, and another customer with PPPoE

couldn't get on either.

I downgraded the firmware to 0.09.10 and everything started

to work that way it's supposed to.

Having said that, here's the problem I've been wrestling with

for 3 months now.

The Access Point is an ABI 4.5 miles away with good line-of-sight

to the ABO with a 19db grid. I get 100% RSSI and 92-98% Signal

Quality. When testing throughput from the switch up at the AP I get

just over 2 megabit back to the NOC. When testing from behind this

ABO I have never been able to get more than 700K, and it's currently

getting 450-600K. I just can't seem to get this link to go any

faster.

I've tried,

- A different radio

- 3 different antennas (13db panel, 15db grid, 19db grid)

- Changed the antenna cable

- moved the antenna base and re-aimed the antenna

Any suggestions?
