Hi Joe,

The airPointPRO sends the authentication to the radius server only for the wireless client. The Table PC(Windows XP) which uses the wireless PCMCIA card and the MAC address of the card has to be entered in the radius server as users. Normally, the MAC address of the wireless client is used as a username and password for the radius authentication.

Example:

Username: 00301A1123456

Password:  00301A1123456

Thank you

Hi Seeni

It is checked. I still connect authenticate or for that matter bring the wireless connection up. The client is  a Windows XP machine with a wireless card.

In airPointPRO’s simpleMonitor, the “Non IP –traffic” has to be checked / allowed.

Subject: [smartBridges] radius authentication

Greetings

I have an air point pro that is successfully talking to my radius server.

I have a TabletPC that can talk to the air point pro over wireless with no authentication enabled.

If I configure the air point pro to do Radius and configure the TabletPC to use PPoe, the mac address of the TabletPC is displayed as a client on the airpoint pro but the Tablet PC fails to make a connection.

Any ideas

Thanks

Joe
