I'm working to create an MRTG environment on Win2000. I started by creating a perl execution environment on the Win2000 box. I used the OpenXtra Basics package to do this and perl seems to be working well. This package also contains a set of MRTG utilities that will query SMTP devices and create web pages with charts that show the performance of the device over time.
I downloaded the MRTG Polling Script from the smartBridges web site and installed this package per the instructions. I am able to run sb-mrtg.pl perl script and print values to the screen such as RSSI and Link Quality. This also seems to be working well. I'm having a difficult time combining the MRTG package with sb-mrtg.pl. The OpenXtra Basics package has a complex directory structure and command shortcuts that are dependent on these structures. I think it is best for me to run in the context of the OpenXtra directory tree for this reason. I created a test.cfg file that is based on one of the samples distributed with sb-mrtg.pl. I copied test.cfg and sb-mrtg.pl into the same directly that contact the mrtg perl script in an attempt to get everything running from the same directory. This allowed me to make some progress. My current problem is that sb-mrtg.pl is trying to gain access to Net\SNMP and can't find it. This appears to be a perl library file that I did not copy from the MRTG Polling Script install directory. OpenXtra has a perl library of the same name. If I copy Net\SNMP into the OpenXtra directory structure, I will overwrite part of the OpenXtra distribution. I'm concerned about what this will do so I didn't copy it and I'm stuck. I need to know if these is a way to append perl libraries to a search order of some sort in this Win2000 environment. This would allow me to search the sB perl library first followed by the OpenXtra perl library. Do this sound like I'm going in the right direction here? Any help would be appreciated, Greg ----------ANNOUNCEMENT---------- Don't forget to register for WISPCON IV http://www.wispcon.info/us/wispcon-iv/wispcon-iv.htm The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org
