The VoIP ought to be popular if the phones
can get cheap enough. The link distances are amazing. When linking communities
together like this the actual Internet is less important as they are making
their own Internet. It could be a challenge to keep enemies from pulling down
remote repeaters or injecting worms into the network. Wireless does seem to be
an idea way for such a country to build a communications network starting from
the individual and building upwards. Totally different from waiting for the
national telephone company to come to your village with a big cable (you could
wait 100 years). There is no waiting, just get together and start doing it
:-)
