This reminds me of an adage that my favorite uncle taught me and has
largely proven true. "If you are beating your head against the wall
over a problem, you are probably making it more complicated than it
really is." When a trouble shooting problem has me utterly stumped, I
will first take a break from it, then get back to the basics. I almost
always find the answer to be something incredibly simple that I would
have found right off the bat if I hadn't let my ego get in the way.
