OK I just got the information from the design engineering. For aPXO - 300mA at 48V For aPXO2 - 400mA at 48V
Both the products require 48V input for 802.3af compliance. Hope this helps. Since generally, lead-acid cells should not be discharged over 50%, to maintain maximum life, you would need a 72AH battery, for a single day backup. Also, since in the winter, your sun hours are shorter - perhaps as low as 4 (up north) or 6 (southern US... remember, it isn't just when the sun is shining, it's when the sun is shining directly on the panels that counts) you have to divide that 36 AH by your available sun - 4 hours. So, just to keep up with 18 W usage, you need at least 9A in full sun, or about 150 - 170 watts. Solar panels are rated at 17-18 volts, not at 12. So, a 70 watt panel puts out a bit over 4 A, regardless of voltage, so long as it's less than 17. Unless you live where the sun shines 365 days a year, you will need the battery reserve capacity to last through any expected sunless time (I plan on 5 days for here), and sufficient solar panel power to recover that discharge in a reasonable amount of time. Thus, for a single 1.5 A continuous load, I would want 200 to 275 W of solar panels, and 400 amp-hours of battery capacity. You may not need anywhere near that... or you may need more.
